Construction consists of structural rehabilitation of approximately 500 lf of 9 foot high x 12 foot wide south primary effluent conduit at the Metro Wastewater's Central Treatment Plant. Work includes demolition of the damaged deck and upper sidewalls of the conduit, furnish and install 11' 2” ID fiberglass pipe, rehabilitation of approximately 460 lf of the SPEC roof and upper sidewalls with hydroblasting, shotcrete and supplemental structural reinforcing steel. Other preparatory work includes excavation and trench shoring with 15 foot trench sidewalls to access the SPEC; temporary above-ground relocation of 7,000 lf of 4” to 24” process pipelines; permanent installation of 3,600 lf of 4” to 24” process pipelines; bypass pumping of up to 124 MGD of wastewater flows around the SPEC construction; concrete pavement replacement and landscaping restoration.
